This 6-module course explores the theory and practice of organic gardening, providing a comprehensive introduction.
Study topics include: history of the organic movement; organic gardening and the environment; soil cultivation and management; organic cultivation of fruit and vegetable crops; the herb garden; an organic diet; accreditation of organic crops; greenhouse gardening; controlling pests and diseases; weed control; conservation and the gardener; encouraging wildlife; the garden pond; planning your organic garden.
On successful completion of the course students are awarded an Edinburgh Garden School certificate of Course Completion. Edinburgh Garden School is part of Borders Connect, accredited by the ODLQC and registered as a training provider with the Online Learning Council.
